Eagles Point

Eagles Point is a rocky overlook along the Lands End Trail that gives you one of the most dramatic and unobstructed views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the San Francisco side. Unlike crowded tourist spots, this location sits slightly elevated and angled so you can frame the bridge with the rugged Marin Headlands behind it and the Pacific stretching out to the left. Try shooting from the rocky outcroppings at the edge for a low perspective that puts interesting foreground texture in front of the bridge, or step back to include the cypress trees and trail for a sense of depth. Golden hour and blue hour both work exceptionally well here, with the bridge catching warm or cool light depending on the time. Reach the point via the Lands End Trail from the Merrie Way parking area, about a 15 minute walk; a wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range will serve you well.
