Evergreen Brick Works
Evergreen Brick Works is a former industrial quarry turned cultural hub, where weathered brick kilns, rusted machinery, and raw concrete structures create a compelling mix of textures and decay set against a valley landscape. The heritage buildings offer strong geometric compositions, with arched kiln openings, repetitive brick patterns, and industrial frameworks that reward both wide-angle and tighter detail shots. Overcast days are ideal here since diffused light brings out the richness of the aged brick tones without harsh shadows in the deep archways. Early mornings on weekends give you the space to work without crowds. Walk through the main pavilion complex and look for layering opportunities, placing structural elements in the foreground against the open sky or surrounding trees. A 24-70mm lens covers most situations well, from sweeping building facades to close details on weathered surfaces. Parking is available on site, and the grounds are easy to navigate on foot.
