Prince Edward Viaduct
The Prince Edward Viaduct, also known as the Bloor Viaduct, stretches across the Don Valley in Toronto, offering a striking mix of concrete arches, steel suicide barrier mesh, and the busy roadway above. From below in the Don Valley trail system, you can frame the bridge's full arch span with the valley's green canopy, especially compelling in fall when the foliage turns. A wide to mid-range lens works well for capturing the full structure from the riverbank, while a longer focal length helps compress the bridge against the city skyline to the west. The underside offers strong geometric compositions with repeating arches and symmetry. Golden hour light in the late afternoon catches the warm stone and steel beautifully. Access the lower vantage points via the Don Valley trails from Riverdale Park East; the trails are unpaved in sections so wear appropriate footwear. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
