The Galleria Borghese is one of Rome's most intimate and visually rich museums, housed in a 17th-century villa surrounded by the gardens of Villa Borghese. Inside, the lavishly decorated rooms combine painted ceilings, marble floors, and sculpted walls with masterworks by Bernini and Canova, creating layered compositions where art and architecture are inseparable. You will want a wide-angle lens to capture the full grandeur of the salon ceilings, while a short telephoto lets you isolate sculptural details and textures in the marble. The natural light filtering through tall windows works well in the morning when the galleries are less crowded, keeping contrast manageable. Visit at opening time since entry is timed and limited to two-hour slots, which you must book in advance. Tripods are not permitted, so bring a fast prime lens and keep your ISO flexible for the lower-lit rooms. (Rome, Lazio, Italy)
