Gitgit Waterfall is a lush, multi-tiered cascade tucked into the rainforest highlands of northern Bali, dropping around 35 meters into a rocky pool surrounded by dense tropical vegetation. The falls themselves are the obvious main subject, but the real compositional work happens in how you frame them: position yourself low near the pool's edge to capture foreground rocks and mist, or step back along the viewing platform to include the layered green canopy above. A wide-angle lens handles the full scene well, while a mid-range zoom lets you isolate individual tiers. Shoot in the morning, ideally just after opening, when soft diffused light filters through the tree cover and crowds are thinner. Use a slow shutter speed, around one to two seconds, to smooth the water into silky streaks. Bring a rain jacket and a lens cloth, as the mist near the base is persistent and heavy.
