Herbert Lake
Herbert Lake is a small, quiet lake located along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park, just south of Lake Louise. Named after H. Herbert, an early government official in the region, the lake is often overlooked in favor of larger nearby destinations, which helps keep it more peaceful. Its still waters and low shoreline create clear views toward the surrounding peaks, with frequent reflections when conditions are calm. The mix of forest, water, and mountain backdrops offers a variety of simple, balanced compositions, especially during early morning when the light is soft and the surface is most likely to be undisturbed. Easy access from the roadside makes it a quick and worthwhile stop along one of Canada’s most scenic drives. (Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada)
