High View Lookout
Perched above the Bowen Island community of Snug Cove, this compact lookout delivers a sweeping panorama across Howe Sound toward Vancouver and the Coast Mountains, with Mount Baker's snow-capped peak visible to the southeast on clear days. The elevated vantage point works well for wide compositions that layer the ocean, distant cityscape, and mountain ridgelines together. A telephoto lens lets you compress those elements and isolate Mount Baker or pull in the Vancouver skyline across the water. Morning light is particularly rewarding, with the sun rising behind the mountains and casting warm tones across the sound. The lookout is reached via a short uphill trail from the Snug Cove ferry terminal, so it is accessible without a car if you time it with BC Ferries sailings.
