Hockey Hall of Fame
The Hockey Hall of Fame occupies a stunning Beaux-Arts building that was once a Bank of Montreal branch, and the interior is just as photogenic as the exhibits inside. The Great Hall, topped with a ornate domed ceiling and stained glass, is the architectural centerpiece and where the Stanley Cup is displayed, making it one of the most recognizable sports photography settings in the world. Shoot wide to capture the full dome and the cup together, or get low and close to the Cup itself for dramatic detail shots. Natural light filtering through the stained glass works beautifully during midday hours when it is most direct. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range handles the grand interior well, while a fast prime lets you work in the lower light areas of the exhibit halls. Tripods may be restricted, so check ahead and work on stabilizing handheld shots. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
