Jardin du Casino is winding terraced garden that leads down from Avenue de la Costa to Place du Casino. The garden was originally designed in the 1890s, and it was rebuilt to those plans and reopened in 2019. The whole garden is based around being one long sightline with the lawns, flowerbeds and water all sitting so they run downhill toward the Casino. That all means the view is just begging to be photographed. Standing at the upper end give the perfect elevated view over the Place du Casino square. Fan palms line the edges and give you height to shoot past. A pair of water fountains line up down the middle of the garden so you can experiment with reflections when the surface is still. Along the eastern side, the One Monte-Carlo buildings give you modern lines to contrast against the older stonework further down. Come back after dark once the lighting is on. The square holds detail through blue hour while the garden stays dim enough to shoot from. Although early morning is the often the quietest time to visit the gardens since it is also a pedestrian route between the upper avenues and the square below. (Monte-Carlo, Monaco)
