Kerry Park

Kerry Park - Photo by Zhifei Zhou1 / 1

This small hilltop park on Queen Anne Hill is one of the most iconic urban viewpoints in the Pacific Northwest, giving you an elevated, unobstructed look at the Seattle skyline with the Space Needle front and center, downtown towers filling the midground, and Mount Rainier rising dramatically behind it all on clear days. The main viewing area is compact, so position yourself along the low wall and experiment with focal lengths; a 70-200mm lens helps compress the distance and pull Rainier into the frame, while a wider lens captures the full sweep of the city. Blue hour and shortly after sunset are particularly rewarding when the city lights come alive against a deep sky. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your target light since the platform fills quickly, especially on weekends. Street parking is available nearby on Highland Drive.
