Maison Lantier is a historic fieldstone farmhouse from about 1785, sitting in Parc Héritage on Montreal's West Island. Joseph Lantier had it built, and his family held on to it well into the twentieth century. The design is a classic is square sitting under a steep pitched roof with a stone foundation. The city rebuilt it in the late seventies with hand cut beams and cedar shingles to resemble its original buildwork. Shooting from the corner will capture the long wall and the gable with the pops of blue trim to highlight the historic features of the house. A cross now sits at the entrance of the park, moved here from another Kirkland property, works as a perfect foreground. The greenspace around the house gives you clean backgrounds and lots of room to experiment with your compositions. The inside is not accessibly, the house is only open when it is rented out for events. (Kirkland, Quebec, Canada)
