Little Trinity Anglican Church
Built in 1843, Little Trinity is Toronto's oldest surviving church building, a compact red brick Tudor Gothic structure tucked into the historic Distillery District neighborhood that offers a striking contrast between 19th century architecture and the surrounding industrial and modern cityscape. The church's warm brick facade, pointed arched windows, and modest tower make it a strong subject on its own, and the tight streets around it allow you to compress the scene nicely with a short telephoto in the 50-85mm range. Shoot from King Street East or the laneway to the south to isolate the facade, or step back to include the surrounding buildings for context. Overcast days bring out the richness of the red brick without harsh shadows, though golden hour light raking across the front elevation adds excellent texture and depth. Street parking is available nearby and the area is very walkable. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
