Lonsdale Quay
Lonsdale Quay sits on the North Shore waterfront in North Vancouver, giving you a straight-on view across Burrard Inlet toward the downtown Vancouver skyline, with the iconic glass towers framed by mountains behind them on clear days. The public market building and dock area offer foreground interest, and the waterfront promenade lets you shift your position to compress or spread the skyline as needed. A telephoto lens in the 70-200mm range works well for pulling the city close and stacking the towers against the mountains, while a wider lens captures the full sweep of the inlet. Sunset and blue hour are the prime times to shoot here, when warm light fades over the skyline and the city lights begin reflecting on the water. The area is fully accessible, well-lit at night, and busy with foot traffic, so arriving a little early lets you settle into a clean spot along the railing.
