About Meech Creek Bridge

Meech Creek Bridge is a classic red covered wooden bridge tucked into the forested landscape of Gatineau Park, offering the kind of rustic charm that rewards photographers who take time to explore beyond the park's main attractions. The bridge spans a quiet creek, giving you natural framing opportunities from multiple angles: shoot straight on from either end to use the tunnel perspective and leading lines, or wade down to the creek bank below to capture the bridge reflected in calmer water with the surrounding forest as a backdrop. Overcast days work beautifully here, softening the contrast between the red wood and dense tree canopy, while autumn transforms the surrounding forest into vivid colour that complements the structure perfectly. A wide to standard zoom in the 24-50mm range handles most compositions well. Parking is available along Chemin Cross Loop and the bridge is an easy walk from the roadside. (Chelsea, Quebec, Canada)
