Built in 1934, this former colonial police station is one of Singapore's most visually striking facades, best known for its grid of 927 windows, each painted in a different color of the spectrum, creating a cascading rainbow effect across the white neoclassical exterior. Position yourself on the opposite bank of the Singapore River for a wide establishing shot that captures the full length of the building, or cross over and get close to isolate individual window details and the layered color patterns. A 24-70mm lens handles both approaches well. Midday light works surprisingly well here since the white facade reflects evenly and the colors read clearly without harsh shadows, though the golden hour adds warmth that makes the stonework glow. The building sits along Hill Street with a wide pedestrian path in front, so you have room to frame without obstructions. (Singapore, Central Region, Singapore)
