Montreal Port Grain Elevators

Tucked into the working edge of Montreal's Old Port, behind the Farine Five Roses silos, sits a tangle of old grain handling structures that most people drive straight past. Many are abandoned and have fallen into disrepair over the years but a few appear to still be functional. This tall weathered elevator tower stands on steel legs with a long covered conveyor cutting across the sky on a rusted trestle. This is port land, so fences and concrete barriers box much of it off, but there are a few clear vantage points if you take your time and experiment. Since it is private property, and much of it is not in a safe condition to explore, make sure to stay on the public road and shoot through the gaps. There is a bike path under the main roadways here, making this particular shooting location fairly easy to access. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
