This towering translucent sculpture by Jaume Plensa stands in Jean-Drapeau Park, rising dramatically against the open sky of Île Sainte-Hélène. Built from interlocking letters drawn from eight different alphabets, the white resin figure glows beautifully when backlit, making it one of the most striking photo subjects in Montreal. Shoot from a low angle looking upward to emphasize its scale and the intricate lattice of characters against the sky; a wide to standard focal length, around 24 to 50mm, works well for environmental shots, while a longer lens lets you isolate the typographic details. Golden hour light from the west catches the figure warmly, but overcast days produce even, flattering illumination that reveals the sculpture's texture without harsh shadows. The site is open and accessible, with plenty of room to circle the piece and find your angle. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
