Montreal Skyscraper
This striking glass tower on Drummond Street offers some of the cleanest reflection photography in downtown Montreal, with its curved facade capturing distorted mirror images of the surrounding skyline and street life. Position yourself low and close to the base to exaggerate the building's height and pull in reflections of neighboring architecture; a wide angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well here. Stepping back across the street gives you a fuller view of the curtain wall and lets you frame surrounding buildings within the glass. Overcast days are ideal, as soft diffused light reduces harsh glare and makes the reflections read more clearly. On sunny days, early morning light from the east hits the facade at a flattering angle before the street falls into shadow. The sidewalk is accessible and unobstructed, making it easy to experiment with different heights and distances. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
