Pont Del Petroli
Pont del Petroli is a decommissioned industrial oil pier stretching roughly 250 meters into the Mediterranean, its rusted steel framework creating a strong graphic element against open water and sky. The structure itself is the main subject here; shoot from the shore using a telephoto lens to compress the pier against the horizon, or walk out onto the platform and look back toward the Badalona coastline and the distant Barcelona skyline for a compelling wide-angle composition. The repeating metal supports make excellent leading lines whether you are shooting from ground level or from the pier deck. Golden hour and blue hour are both rewarding, with sunrise delivering soft warm light directly along the pier's axis and minimal crowds. Access is free and the walkway is open to the public, so you can move freely along its length. A 24-70mm covers most situations well, though a wider lens helps when shooting from the pier end.
