Ponte dei Barcaroli o del Cuoridoro

This small, understated bridge in the heart of Venice offers one of the city's classic canal perspectives, where the narrow Rio dei Barcaroli stretches ahead in a tight corridor of aged facades, shuttered windows, and weathered stone. Position yourself at the center of the bridge and shoot straight down the canal to capture the symmetry of the buildings closing in on either side, with gondola moorings and reflections adding depth to the foreground. A wide to standard focal length, around 24 to 50mm, works well for keeping the scene balanced without distorting the architecture. Midday light can be harsh in the narrow canal, so aim for the golden hour when warm light just grazes the upper stories and the water takes on a glassy, reflective quality. Early morning gives you the added bonus of empty streets and still water. The bridge is easily reached on foot from Campo San Marco or Campo Sant'Angelo. (Venice, Veneto, Italy)
