Pura Taman Saraswati

Pura Taman Saraswati is a Balinese Hindu temple in the heart of Ubud, built around a large lotus pond that serves as its most photogenic feature. The pond fills the foreground with pink and white blooms, and the ornately carved stone gateway rising behind it creates a natural layered composition that rewards patience and careful framing. Shoot from low and near the pond's edge to maximize the lotuses in the foreground while keeping the temple architecture sharp in the background; a wide to standard zoom in the 24-50mm range works well here. Early morning gives you the softest light, the fewest crowds, and the best chance of fully open blossoms before the heat of the day sets in. The site sits directly on Ubud's main street and is freely accessible from the front, making it easy to visit.
