Reine Bay offers one of the most iconic compositions in Norway, with jagged peaks rising sharply from calm Arctic waters and clusters of red and yellow fishermen's cabins lining the shoreline. The classic view looks out across the bay toward the dramatic mountain ridges, and you can frame this shot from the small bridges and roads connecting the islands, using the reflections in the water as a mirror image of the peaks above. The elevated viewpoint on the road approaching Reine from the east gives you a sweeping panoramic perspective that works well with a wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range. The northern light here is exceptional, with the midnight sun in summer giving you warm golden tones late into the evening, while winter brings the aurora borealis directly over the peaks. Roads are accessible by car, though parking is limited in peak season so arriving early pays off. (Lofoten, Norway)
