Sakrisøya is a tiny island in the Lofoten archipelago, sitting between the iconic fishing villages of Reine and Hamnøy, and it offers one of the most striking combinations of red and yellow rorbu cabins, glassy water reflections, and jagged mountain peaks you will find anywhere in Norway. The classic shot is from the small bridge or roadside at the water's edge, using the painted boathouses and their mirror reflections as your foreground while the dramatic peaks fill the background; a wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range works beautifully here. Blue hour and golden hour are both exceptional, as the low Arctic light wraps around the mountains and catches the warm colors of the cabins. The island sits right along the E10 road, so access is straightforward, and you can park near the bridge and walk the shoreline to find your preferred angle. (Reine, Nordland, Norway)
