Schlosspark Schönbrunn
Schönbrunn Palace and its sprawling park give you one of Vienna's most rewarding architectural shoots, combining a grand Rococo facade with formal gardens, fountains, and a hilltop panoramic terrace. The classic composition is from the Neptune Fountain looking up the main axis toward the palace, where the fountain's sculptural detail frames the yellow facade perfectly with the Gloriette monument crowning the hill behind it. For a wider perspective, climb up to the Gloriette itself, where you get a sweeping view back over the palace and the city beyond. Early morning is ideal, when the light is soft, the crowds are thin, and the gravel paths are empty. A mid-range zoom in the 24-70mm range handles most compositions well, though a wider lens helps inside the tight garden corridors. The park is freely accessible even when the palace is closed.
