The Speicherstadt is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations. Dating back to 1883, it has now been awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site. These canals are lined with tall, imposing brick buildings which seem stoic and formal during the day, but at night as the city’s lights come up they transform into a dynamic shooting location.
