St Edward's Church
St Edward's Church is a historic stone church that dates back to medieval times. The oldest part of the present church is the nave, built in the 13th century, while the chancel is a century younger. The tower was rebuilt in 1445 on an older base. Plus hidden away on the grounds of the historic St Edward’s Church Stow-on-the-Wold is a mystical doorway that looks like a portal that could transport you to another realm. With its studded wooden panels flanked by ancient yew trees and an old oil lamp hanging above it, you would be forgiven for mistaking this door for being something born of Middle Earth. The church stands immediately off the market square in the heart of Stow. There is free parking in the square, though this can sometimes be full on a sunny summer day.
