Position yourself low on the street to maximize the leading line of the road and let the dome dominate the upper third of the frame; a short telephoto in the 70-135mm range compresses the distance nicely and makes the basilica feel even more imposing. Fall is the standout season here, when the surrounding maples frame the dome in warm reds and oranges. Return at blue hour or just after dark when the dome is lit up and the street lamps add depth and atmosphere to the scene.
