About "The Mary Anne"
In 1996, the Mary Ann, a 60' shrimp boat, ran aground on the South end of Jekyll Island. When the tide came in, she was stuck forever! Over the years, as the island shifts Southward, the only visible part of her is her mast. As of Easter 2023, there is only 8' that is still visible above the sand! The juxtaposition of whats left of the wreck against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean creates a striking scene. (Jekyll Island, Georgia, USA)
