Rising from the heart of La Défense, this striking headquarters for the energy giant TotalEnergies is one of the more visually complex towers in the district, built from five stacked volumes of descending heights that create a stepped silhouette unlike the flat-topped towers around it. The layered geometry rewards photographers who work the angles: shoot from below looking straight up to emphasize the receding tiers, or step back toward the Grande Arche esplanade to capture the full profile against the sky. A wide-angle or ultra-wide lens handles the scale well, while a longer focal length lets you isolate the stepped facade details from a distance. Overcast days soften reflections on the glass and reveal the building's form more clearly, though golden hour adds warmth to the curtain wall.
