Perched on a volcanic rock jutting into the Indian Ocean, this small Hindu temple offers one of Bali's most iconic silhouette shots, especially at sunset when the sky turns deep orange and purple behind the tiered pagoda shrines. Position yourself on the beach to the south for a classic wide composition that includes the rock, the temple, and the crashing surf in the foreground; a wider lens in the 16-35mm range works well here to capture the full scene. Low tide gives you access to wet sand closer to the rock, which adds strong reflections and leading lines toward the structure. Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before sunset to find your spot, as the beach draws crowds in the evening.
