Andrew Haydon Park
Andrew Haydon Park stretches along the southern bank of the Ottawa River in Ottawa's west end, offering a mix of open waterfront, marshy inlets, cattail beds, and manicured green space that gives you a surprising variety of compositions in one location. The cattails and pond areas are particularly strong for close-up nature shots and reflections, especially in calm morning light when the water is glassy. Face north toward the river for wide landscape shots with the Quebec shoreline in the background, or work the marshy edges with a telephoto lens to compress the reeds and water into layered, textured frames. Golden hour at either end of the day rewards patient shooters; sunrise brings soft, cool light over the water while sunset casts warm tones across the river. The park is flat and easily walkable, with paved paths and open grass giving you freedom to reposition quickly. (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)
