Barangaroo Reserve is a reclaimed headland park on Sydney's western waterfront, offering some of the most dramatic views of the Harbour Bridge and city skyline available from ground level. The sandstone terraces and rocky foreshore give you natural leading lines and textured foregrounds to work with, while the native plantings add depth and framing opportunities throughout the park. Sunrise is the standout time to shoot here, with warm light hitting the bridge and city towers from across the water, and minimal crowds. A wide angle lens works well for capturing the sweeping harbour panorama, but a mid-range zoom lets you compress the bridge against the skyline for a more graphic composition. Walk the full length of the foreshore to find your preferred angle; the northern end of the reserve tends to offer the cleanest views of the bridge without obstructions.
