Bois-de-Liesse Nature Park
Bois-de-Liesse is a quiet urban forest on the northwestern edge of Montreal, where the Rivière des Prairies winds through dense woodland and open meadows, offering a surprising escape from the city. The river is the main draw for photographers, with calm stretches that reflect surrounding trees and sky, especially in the early morning when mist sits low on the water. Autumn transforms the forest into rich golds and reds, making it one of the best seasons to visit, while winter brings a completely different character with snow-covered trails and frozen river edges. A wide-angle lens works well for capturing the forest canopy along the trails, and a longer focal length helps isolate reflections on the water. Trails are well-maintained and easy to walk, so you can move through several distinct environments in a single shoot. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
