The Brooklyn Bridge's elevated pedestrian walkway puts you at eye level with the iconic gothic stone towers and cable arrays, making it one of the most rewarding urban walks for photographers in the world. The classic shot uses the wooden walkway as a strong leading line converging toward whichever tower you are facing, with cables fanning out symmetrically above. A wide angle lens in the 16-35mm range works well for this compression, while a longer focal length lets you isolate the towers against the Manhattan skyline. Early morning on weekdays is ideal, giving you soft light and far fewer people to contend with. Shoot from the Manhattan side looking toward Brooklyn for a cleaner background, or stop at the midpoint between towers for the most dramatic cable geometry. Access is free and the walkway is open around the clock, but golden hour draws crowds on weekends. (Brooklyn, New York, United States)
