Budareyrarfoss
Búðareyrarfoss tumbles dramatically down a steep mountain face above the village of Seyðisfjörður, dropping roughly 60 meters in a powerful vertical cascade before the river eventually meets the sea below. The falls are best framed with the surrounding basalt cliffs and green hillsides filling your frame, giving strong context to the scale of the drop. A wide angle lens works well here to capture both the full height of the falls and the rugged terrain around it, though a short telephoto can isolate the main cascade nicely. Overcast days are ideal since Iceland's flat diffused light eliminates harsh shadows and brings out the texture of the water and rock face. The falls are accessible from the village itself, so positioning yourself on the lower slopes gives you a solid upward-looking composition that emphasizes the height.
