Bunes Beach is a sweeping, remote stretch of white sand backed by dramatic mountain walls in the Lofoten Islands, with the open Norwegian Sea rolling in from the west. The contrast between the pale beach, dark peaks, and deep blue water gives you strong natural framing in almost any direction. Shoot from the waterline looking back toward the mountains for a classic composition, or wade into the shallows to capture reflections when the water is calm. Late summer through early autumn is the prime window for sunset photography, with golden light lasting well into the evening and the sun dropping directly over the sea. Getting here requires a short ferry ride from Reine to Vindstad followed by an easy 2 km trail walk, so plan around the ferry schedule and allow time to explore. A wide angle lens suits the scale of the landscape well. (Moskenes, Nordland, Norway)
