Cais da Ribeira
Cais da Ribeira is a lively riverfront promenade along the Douro River, sitting right beside the Dom Luís I Bridge in the Porto’s historic centre. The area is lined with tightly packed, pastel coloured buildings that face the water, giving you a great backdrop full of colour and detail. It is an easy place to shoot, whether you are focusing on the buildings, the boats along the river, or framing the bridge as a centrepiece. You can walk along the promenade to find different angles, or step back to include more of the skyline and river in your shots. During the day, the colours and textures stand out, while in the evening the lights from the buildings and bridge reflect on the water and add a lot more atmosphere. It is one of the best spots in Porto to slow down and take your time with a camera. (Porto, Portugal)
