Escadas dos Guindais
Escadas dos Guindais is a narrow set of stone steps that winds down the hillside between the upper city and the riverside. The path is lined with old terraced houses, giving it a really lived in, local feel that is quite different from the more open viewpoints nearby. As you make your way down, the view starts to open up toward the Douro River and the Dom Luís I Bridge, which becomes a strong focal point. It is a great spot to play with framing, using the steps, railings, and buildings to lead your shot toward the bridge. The tighter space also makes it good for more layered compositions. It works well in softer light, but the view holds up throughout the day. It is a bit tucked away, which makes it feel like more of a hidden find while exploring Porto. (Porto, Portugal)
