CF Toronto Eaton Centre

CF Toronto Eaton Centre - Photo by Shawn M. Kent1 / 1

CF Toronto Eaton Centre is a shopping complex with a soaring atrium was inspired by the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. The glass vaulted ceiling fills the area with natural light for most of the day. The steel arches and glass panels create strong repeating lines that work well from almost any level. Michael Snow's "Flight Stop" hangs from the ceiling with its 60 fibreglass Canada geese suspended as if in mid-flight. Each one was built from photographs of an actual bird. The centre is connected to both Dundas and Queen subway stations and to the PATH underground network making it very accessible. As a bonus the south end of the mall opens up toward Old City Hall, so you can easily tie the two locations together in one visit. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
