The Court of the Patriarchs is a classic Zion viewpoint where three towering sandstone monoliths, named Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, rise dramatically above a lush valley floor of cottonwoods and pines. The designated viewpoint gives you a clear, unobstructed look at all three peaks together, making it easy to frame them as a single composition with the green canopy below adding depth and color contrast against the warm red rock. Morning light works best here, as the sun illuminates the faces of the peaks directly and the shadows are still soft; midday can flatten the texture of the sandstone. A wide to standard focal length, around 24 to 50mm, captures all three summits comfortably, while a longer lens lets you compress the layers and pull the peaks closer to the treeline. The viewpoint is a short, paved walk from a roadside pullout along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, making it one of the most accessible stops in the park. (Zion National Park, Utah, United States)
