Perched more than 2,000 feet above the canyon floor, this summit delivers one of the most dramatic top-down perspectives in all of Zion, looking directly down onto Angels Landing and the winding Virgin River below. The view opens up in multiple directions, giving you sweeping canyon walls, layered sandstone in deep reds and oranges, and a sense of scale that is hard to capture but worth trying. A wide-angle lens works well for the full panoramic sweep, while a telephoto lets you compress the canyon layers or isolate hikers on Angels Landing far below. Morning light catches the east-facing walls beautifully, and midday can actually work here since the elevated position keeps deep shadows from being a problem. The trail is a strenuous 8-mile round trip with significant elevation gain, so plan for an early start, bring plenty of water, and wear sturdy footwear. (Springdale, Utah, United States)
