Daisy Geyser is one of Yellowstone's most reliably predictable geysers, erupting every 90 to 110 minutes and sending a angled jet of boiling water up to 75 feet into the air at a distinctive diagonal slant. That angled spray is what makes it especially photogenic, giving you a dynamic diagonal line rather than the straight vertical blast of geysers like Old Faithful. Position yourself to the side rather than directly in front to emphasize that angle, and use the steam plume as a natural compositional element against the sky. A telephoto lens in the 70 to 200mm range lets you compress the background and isolate the eruption, while a wider shot captures the surrounding thermal landscape. Morning light works best, especially on cooler days when steam volume is higher and backlit by low sun. Check the predicted eruption times at the Old Faithful Visitor Center before heading out so you are not waiting long. (Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States)
