This rocky granite promontory juts into the Irish Sea at Sandycove, offering dramatic coastal compositions with crashing waves, weathered stone textures, and open water views stretching toward Howth Head on the far side of Dublin Bay. The Martello tower sitting just above the site adds a strong architectural element you can incorporate into wider shots. Low tide exposes more of the jagged rock formations, giving you foreground texture to work with, while incoming swells create dynamic water movement against the stone. Early morning light is ideal, especially on clear days when the low sun rakes across the granite and the bay glows with warm tones before crowds arrive. A wide angle lens suits the sweeping coastal views, though a short telephoto works well for isolating swimmers against the open sea. Parking is limited nearby, so arriving early on foot from Sandycove village keeps things simple. (Sandycove, Dublin, Ireland)
