Hawk Cliff is a rugged coastal outcrop on the south Dublin shoreline, where dramatic granite cliffs drop toward clear tidal waters and rocky platforms that catch the light beautifully. The layered cliff face itself makes a strong subject, and you can use the natural rock formations in the foreground to anchor wide compositions looking out toward Dalkey Island and Killiney Bay. The path down from Vico Road offers elevated vantage points where a telephoto lens helps compress the coastline and pull in the island backdrop. Golden hour light, especially in the evening, catches the texture of the granite and warms the sea tones considerably. Low tide is the best time to access the rock platforms at the base, giving you water-level perspectives and reflections in shallow pools. The descent is moderately steep and uneven, so wear solid footwear and take care with gear on the way down. (Dalkey, Dublin, Ireland)
