Glacier Park Lodge greets you with one of the most dramatic hotel interiors in the American West, a soaring great hall supported by massive Douglas fir and cedar logs, some over 500 years old and reaching 40 feet to the ceiling. The columns create natural leading lines and a strong sense of scale, so shoot low and wide to emphasize the height and the warm wooden tones. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range works well here. Midday is actually fine for interior shooting since you are working with artificial and ambient light rather than direct sun; morning and evening tend to have fewer guests moving through the lobby. Position yourself near the entrance to capture the full depth of the hall, or get close to one of the massive trunks to show texture and contrast against the rafters above.
