One of the most accessible glacier views in North America, this roadside pullout along Going-to-the-Sun Road gives you a direct sightline to Jackson Glacier, one of the last remaining glaciers in the park and a compelling subject given how dramatically it has receded over the decades. The glacier sits tucked into a high cirque, framed by rocky peaks and conifer-lined slopes, and you can capture it cleanly from the paved overlook without any serious hiking. A telephoto lens in the 200-400mm range lets you compress the distance and fill the frame with the ice and surrounding rock. Morning light hits the glacier face well and avoids the harsh midday contrast, while overcast days can actually work in your favor by softening shadows across the terrain. The overlook gets congested during peak summer hours, so arriving early or coming in the evening gives you room to set up without crowds in the frame. (Glacier National Park, Montana, United States)
