Two Medicine Lake

Two Medicine Lake sits in one of Glacier National Park's quieter corners, offering dramatic mountain reflections on a glacially carved lake framed by peaks including Sinopah Mountain to the south. The classic shot is from the boat dock or shoreline near the boat launch, where you can line up Sinopah's reflection stretching across the water, especially on still mornings before the wind picks up. Early morning is the ideal time to visit, when calm conditions give you mirror-like reflections and soft alpenglow catches the peaks. A wide angle lens works well to capture the full sweep of mountains and sky, though a short telephoto helps compress the layered ridgelines. The Two Medicine area is less crowded than many Glacier destinations, but arrive early in summer to secure a good spot along the eastern shoreline before tour boats begin cutting through the water.
