Hendrik Jacobszstraat
Hendrik Jacobszstraat is a narrow, tree-lined brick street in Amsterdam's Oud-West neighborhood that becomes one of the city's most compelling autumn shooting locations when the canopy turns gold and orange. The tall trees arch overhead, creating a natural tunnel effect that works beautifully as a leading line, drawing the eye straight down the street. Position yourself low and central to emphasize the symmetry, or shift slightly to one side to include the characteristic Amsterdam rowhouses framing the edges. A short to mid-range prime lens works well here, though a slightly wider focal length helps capture the full height of the trees. Overcast days soften the light and bring out the richness of the fall colors without harsh shadows on the brick surface. Early morning gives you the best chance of an empty street before foot and cycle traffic picks up. (Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands)
