Vondelpark
Vondelpark is Amsterdam's beloved green heart, a 19th-century English landscape garden where winding paths, ornamental ponds, and mature trees create a surprisingly natural feel just minutes from the city center. The park rewards photographers who slow down and look for layers: use the long reflective ponds to mirror surrounding willows and the elegant bandstand, or position yourself along the curving pathways to draw the eye through dappled light and cyclists in motion. Early morning on weekdays gives you soft, diffused light and far fewer people, making it easy to capture the quiet, timeless atmosphere Zocher intended. A 35mm or 50mm lens works well for capturing candid park life, while a longer focal length helps compress the tree-lined allées into graphic compositions. The main entrances on Stadhouderskade are easy to reach by tram, and the park is flat and fully accessible throughout. (Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands)
