Honeymoon Lake
Honeymoon Lake is a small alpine lake tucked behind a campground in Jasper National Park, offering stunning reflections of Clevis Peak and Shackle Peak when conditions are calm. The water is remarkably clear and often goes completely mirror-flat in the early morning, making it one of the better reflection shots in the region without requiring a strenuous hike. Position yourself low along the shoreline to maximize the reflected mountain in your frame, and explore the edges of the lake for foreground interest like rocks or shoreline grasses. A wide angle lens works well for pulling in both the peaks and their reflection together. Dawn is the prime window here, before wind picks up and breaks the surface. The campground access makes it easy to arrive early and be set up before first light. (Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada)
